Happy 60th Birthday Mum for Tuesday 10th June 2008. Now you spend your birthday in a better place. Free from harm and pain and happiness again. Much love to you always. xxx
We lost our Mum tragically on the 31st March 2008. We will never ever get over losing our precious Mum. Words cannot express the hurt we feel inside. Four broken hearts will never be mended.
After Mum was born she lived in Percy Street,Toxteth. Around 1949 Mum and her family moved to Montpelier Terrace near Parliament Street. Then in 1961 Mum and family moved to Stanhope House in Toxteth.
My Mum was the youngest of three children. Mum had a sister and a brother their names are Pauline and Joseph (Sadly Joseph died in his early twenties.) Mum also sadly lost her Mother when she was seven years old. Mums Mothers name was Eleanor Josephine Ness.
At this sad time Mum and Pauline stayed at the Ness family house in Edge Lane, with many relatives such as Old Aunt Nelly, Auntie Nelly, Auntie Joan, Uncle Bob and Dougie, who all resided at this huge shared family house.
Also at this sad time Joseph stayed with Auntie Kate Jackson and her family.
Mums Dad's name was Richard Parker and he was a taxi driver for many years.
Mum went to St Margaret's School in Princess Avenue and made many loyal friends. Her best friend was called Jean.
In 1963 Mum left school and got her first job at a supermarket on Granby Street in Toxteth. Mums next job was in a factory on the dock road. Were she met good friends like Betty.
Mum also worked in a printing factory and it was around this time that Mum met our Dad Alan Scott. (Who also tragically died on the 31st March 2008. Please view Alan Scott's Memorial Site.) Dad was a bus driver at the time. They both met through friends and fell in love. Mum and Dad were married on May 6th 1967. My Dad was 21 years old and my Mum was 19 years old. So young and so in love.
Mum and Dad lived with Christina Scott (Mum's Dad) in Dingle House. Then moved on and got their own place in Belowe Street, Dingle. They didn't stay there long before moving to Allerton.
Mum and Dad settled down and had three children. Childhood days were fun. We have many fond memories of Mum and Dad. Such kind, supportive parents.
Mum was very committed to bringing up her children and sacrificed a lot of her time. We enjoyed many days out to New Brighton, Southport, Fresh Fields and many other places. Trips out were always fun. Lots of treats and good laughs. Mum didn't get a part-time job until all three children were at school and even then Mum would be there at lunch time to greet us with a warm smile.
Mum worked part time for Liverpool City Council for 30 years. Mum worked at New Heys Children's home) Lathbury House, (Retirement home) Acrefield, (Retirement home, Larklane area (Children's home) Mums last job was at Prescott Drive Children's Respite Centre, were Mum won an award for working with children. We are so very proud of her.
Mum and Dad had so many fun loving friends and were very well liked. This was reiterated when 400 family members, friends and neighbours turned up to show their respects at their funeral on Wednesday 16th April 2008 at St Bernadette's Church, Allerton Liverpool. So many people who had been touched by kindness, humour and love from our parents.
We were and still are overwhelmed and appreciative of all the support we have received. Many Thanks and much love to you all.
The name Stella means star. My Mum will always shine bright in the sky and will never die.
We miss you so much Mum. Wish you were here everyday.

If roses grow in Heaven Lord
Please pick a bunch for me.
Place them in my Mum's arms
and tell her they're from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
Place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for a while.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it everyday,
But there is an ache within my heart
That will never go away.
